A long catwalk, beautiful models, a young pop singer and famous fashion editors at a trade fair for consumer electronics? It was with a big bang that Huawei introduced its smartphone revolution Huawei Mate S, two days before the official kick-off of IFA 2015. The spectacular and exclusive preview presentation at the most important showcase for consumer electronics had the large audience of trade journalists and influencers reeling. (You can watch an extensive video of the worldwide launch at the end of this article.) The expectations were high, after all. With its continued innovation, Huawei has taken the world by storm in the past years. So it was clear that what was to come would be nothing less than a revelation. Singer Delacy sang Huawei’s brand song „Dream it possible“ before the exhibition area was turned into a spectacular catwalk.
Connectivity on the catwalk: The crossover between fashion, pop culture and technology was evident.
"Today technology and fashion are inseparable, trends in one industry often influence the other. And we believe that technology should be beautiful," said Mr. Richard Yu, CEO of Consumer Electronics at Huawei, before the models walked down the runway, wearing the ultimate in wearable fashion and coining the phrase "Fashion touches Technology" for Huawei.
Two renowned fashion heavyweights, the editor-in-chief of Spanish VOGUE and the publisher of French GQ, were interviewed on stage, before Huawei Mate S was presented to the audience.
It was pretty clear at first sight that Huawei Mate S is the must-have smartphone for anybody who breathes style and and fashion. It strikes the perfect balance between exquisite design looks and exceptional interactivity, revolutionary usability and connectivity, making it one of the most sought-after and fashionable phones ever to have been developed.
